Uh to my momma...as of this moment I do not plan to go with Dr. Jones with the whole river cleaning. But he hasn't really sent his email out about that, so depending on when it is, and if it costs any money...who knows. But something cool I hope to go on, but I have to talk to Mrs. Dey about it, she asked if anybody in ASL 201 would like to volunteer at this camp, it's for Deaf-Blind people. somewhere near Lake Norman I think she said...but anyway, the room and board would be taken care of, the only issue would transportation. and plus it would count as Deaf culture hours! yippee! Sept 7-9th I think, 2 nights and 3 days. Kinda like KBCD I guess.
My sign language classes...ahh they are not to bad. Bob signs really fast, and it disapoints me, I have almost nodded off twice in his class thus far. I think it's always cause his class is my last one on MWF. Dr. High's class, wow I never had to think about interpreting so much. Frankly, I really don't care much for the class. It's not that it's boring, I just don't feel compelled to be an interpreter. So taking a class on the theory's of interpreting does not really excite me that much. It's okay though...I really like Art class. Right now we are just going over Reprenstational, and Non-reprenstational, abstract, just stuff so we can tell what the piece is...lines, color, styles. We haven't gotten to the history part yet. But I know it will be coming.
Well anyway, that's all I can think of for now. Talk to yall later!

The Weekend!
Hey for the weekend! I have some decsions to make...tonight I have no idea what i will be doing besides catching up on some reading maybe. But Sat. night...wow there's a lot happening! There will be a silent dinner at the Concorde Mall near Charlotte, Deaf Bowling Night at Morganton I hear...and my RA has planned a dance night in the hall, she lives right next to me...so it's either stay up listining to music, or stay up talking to Deaf people somewhere in NC. I would go to the library but it closes at 5:00pm on Saterdays.
I really don't know what to talk about...whoever is reading this (i.e. my mom, and or Stephen...etc.) maybe yall can ask questions? Prompts are always useful when writing as I read recentally in my English book. I will do my best to anwser truthfully, or to be more honest right now...it might be somewhat censored. ;-) I can see my mom's face right now...cringing in agony. Don't worry about me momma...I am still the same old boring me. nothing is happening around here, or atleast i don't hang with the people who would know what was happening.
Well I guess I talk to yall later...oh and a round of applause for the baby Newell! yeehaw! :-)

ASL stuff
Just doing a quick post before I head to the Deaf club meeting at 4:00. Intrestingly enough most of the Deaf Club is ASL majors...not really Deaf. However, most of the leaders are the few Deaf students on campus. Also in GWU's little Deaf world today...Tonight is the first "Silent Dinner" at the Caf. Somehow they expect us all to be able to fit at one table and sign. There is a lot of ASL majors here...so I am hoping we will use this little side room off on the side of the caf. Not actually sit in the caf itself. Because it gets very noisey. Even though GWU is not the biggest college in America it still a whole lot bigger then Evangel. Well I gotta go, Hope everybody in KY is doing good. And I hope yall's weather is better over there, cause for the past few days it's rained sometime or another. As a matter of fact I think I will be walking in the rain to the Deaf Club meeting. Well...bye and talk to yall later! :-)

Gardner-Webb Uni
Hi, I really am not a big poster...obviously. However, I wanted to let all my friends and family that I am still alive. GWU has been a very unique experience thus far. Some interesting information: I have 6 classes, English 101, ASL 201, Intro to Deaf Culture, English Processing for Interpreting, Honors Art Survey, and Honors Uni 101. (Uni 101 is a class every fresh person has to take, sorta a prepare you for college kind of class...) If you don't understand why it says honors...that's cause i was accepted into the honors program here at GWU.
I was elected a freshman class senator for the SGA. There are only 3 of them. I liked the odds better then trying for president, since there is only one of them.
it's kind of odd being in ASL 201 since all my classmates are sophomores, but it's okay, eventually i will have classes only with other ASL majors.
Been making a lot of friends, that was kind of one of the things you have to do to become elected, make friends, so that way your new found friends vote for you. the catch was...we only had one day to campaign. yep...so that's about it. i will try to keep y'all updated some more from Boiling Springs, NC.

Me...
Hey, Found this on my Associate Pastor's blog...the link is over to the side..."Stephen's Blog"
I did not plan on blogging anymore But I could not help myself! :-)
P.S. There was a nice picture of Dr. Mohler with my quiz, however, it took up to much space so I took it out. Yep, Dr. Mohler the face of Southern Baptists...

You scored as Baptist. If you've landed here, then you are probably a well-informed Baptist. You know what separates you from other Evangelicals and why it is important to divide at certain points. You see the church as a missionary organization whose job it is to preach the gospel to a lost world.
